JSTOR is a not-for-profit service that helps scholars, researchers, and students discover, use, and build upon a wide range of content in a trusted digital archive. We use information technology and tools to increase productivity and facilitate new forms of scholarship.
The JSTOR archive contains the back issues of over 1,100 journals (from volume 1, issue 1) and other supporting materials, such as pamphlets, conference proceedings, and monographs from more than 600 publishers.
JSTOR is now working with publishers to make current journals available globally through the Current Scholarship Program, launched by University of California Press and JSTOR in August 2009. For more information, see http://www.jstor.org/page/info/about/programs/currentScholarship.jsp.
With over 6,000 participating institutions worldwide, JSTOR is one of the most widely recognized and heavily used resources among faculty and students globally. It is valued for its reliability, ease of use, breadth of content, disciplinary coverage, and commitment to long-term preservation.
JSTOR is part of ITHAKA, a not-for-profit organization helping the academic community use digital technologies to preserve the scholarly record and to advance research and teaching in sustainable ways.
All 32,000+ Books at JSTOR titles are now offered exclusively in a DRM-free, unlimited-user model! This gives libraries simultaneous online access for an unlimited number of users, including DRM-free chapter downloads that never expire, printing and copy/paste, no required logins or special software, and interlibrary loan for all ebook chapters.
